BoB Clubs Case Study
BoB Clubs ran business networking clubs where local business people met over breakfast to pass referrals and build relationships. At its peak it had 100 clubs and more than 2,000 members across four continents: Europe, the USA, India, and Australia and New Zealand. wildesoft.net built and developed the BoB Clubs platform for nearly twenty years, from 2004 to 2023.
The Business Problem
A networking organisation runs on people and paperwork: finding and joining a club, organising meetings, inviting visitors, recording attendance, collecting fees and keeping in touch. Done by hand across many clubs, that work falls on a few people at head office and soon limits how far the organisation can grow. Members also want to see the value they get, in the referrals and business their club passes them.
The Solution
wildesoft.net built one platform that ran the whole organisation. The public website let visitors find a club by country, region or map, apply to join and pay online through PayPal, with invoices raised and emailed automatically.
Behind the scenes, head office, regional directors, area coordinators and meetings coordinators each had their own area of the site. Coordinators scheduled meetings, invited visitors, printed name badges and table plans, recorded attendance and sent receipts. Members kept their own profiles and company pages, logged referrals and recommendations, and arranged one-to-ones. Membership records enforced the BoB promise of one member per business category, and handled renewals.
The platform also handled email for the whole organisation: club emails, marketing campaigns with a step-by-step bulk email wizard, and delivery and bounce tracking for every member.
The Result
BoB Clubs could run 100 clubs on four continents with a small head office team and ten regional directors, because the platform did the administration and gave every role the tools it needed. It sent around 30,000 emails a month, and members generated a great many business leads for each other, which they could see recorded against their club. New members could find a club and join at any time of day.
The platform proved itself over nearly twenty years of continuous use.
