The Business Problem

Search engines could read the words on each page, but not the facts behind them. A club page didn't say in a form they understand when the club meets, where, whether a meeting is free or online, or who runs it, so search results showed a plain link instead of a meeting date and venue. Search Console was reporting warnings about the meeting information that was there. Articles had no author or publish date, the home page didn't describe the organisation and how to contact it, and a link shared on social media showed an out-of-date logo. Clubs that had been switched off were still listed for search engines to find.

The Solution

wildesoft.net added structured information, the hidden labels search engines read, across the site:

• every club page now describes the club as an organisation, with each upcoming meeting as an event: its date, start and end times, venue address or online link, whether it's free, and when places can be booked
• the meeting details were completed until Search Console stopped reporting warnings
• every article shows an author byline and publish date, and tells search engines the same
• the home page describes BoB Connections as an organisation, with its contact details and logo
• shared links now show the current logo and a proper preview image
• switched-off clubs were taken out of the sitemap and now lead to the clubs list, and pages for planned clubs are titled "Start a club in" the town

The Result

Search engines can now show BoB Connections clubs with their next meetings, venues and prices, and its articles with an author and date. Search Console is free of meeting warnings, and every link to the site, in a search result or a social media post, looks current and trustworthy.
