Mint: Development Highlights
2020 to 2024
wildesoft.net built a self-service SIM portal for Mint, a West Midlands business technology and telecoms provider, and an emergency staff text messaging service for Mint's customer Otsuka Pharmaceutical Europe. The work covers 2020 to 2024.
At a glance
- 2 systems built from scratch for Mint and its customers
- 4 SIM tasks customers now do themselves: bar, unbar, SIM swap and tag
- Every SIM on an account in one searchable, sortable list
- 3 outside systems connected: Mint's SIM platform, a Microsoft staff directory and a text messaging service
- Weekly automatic sync of staff groups into the text messaging service
- Groups of any size, with every member included
- One sign-in for staff, using their existing Microsoft work account
- About 3,000 lines of code across four years of work
What it means for Mint
- Customers serve themselves. Routine SIM requests no longer wait on Mint's team, and a lost phone can be barred in moments.
- Safe by design. In-progress requests are shown clearly, and safeguards stop duplicate or repeated swaps reaching the network.
- Emergency messages reach everyone. Otsuka's text lists follow its staff directory automatically and include staff without a company phone.
- Less admin. Nobody retypes staff lists or keeps a side spreadsheet of who has which SIM.
