Self-Service SIM Management Case Study
Mint is a business technology and telecoms provider based in Brierley Hill, in the West Midlands, supplying business mobiles and SIMs to other businesses. Its customers often run dozens or hundreds of SIMs across their staff and devices. wildesoft.net built the online portal where those customers manage them.
The Business Problem
Every request about a customer's SIMs went through Mint's own team. A customer who wanted to check which numbers they had, or who needed a lost or stolen phone blocked straight away, had to phone or email Mint and wait. That was slow for the customer at exactly the moment speed mattered, and it filled Mint's day with routine requests that customers could easily have handled themselves.
The Solution
wildesoft.net built a secure web portal, connected to Mint's SIM management platform, that gives each business customer its own view of its account.
After signing in, a customer sees the company name, the total number of SIMs and a table of every active SIM: the network, mobile number, SIM card number, whether it is barred and its current state. The table can be searched, sorted and paged, so finding one number among hundreds takes seconds.
From the same table the customer can bar a SIM, for example when a phone goes missing, or unbar it once the phone turns up. Each action asks for confirmation first. While Mint's platform carries out the request, the SIM shows as "Barring" or "Unbarring" with the time it was asked for, and the buttons are hidden so the same request can't be sent twice.
The portal has its own sign-in for each customer, a check that keeps automated login attempts out, and a page where customers can change their own password.
The Result
Mint's business customers can see and control their SIMs at any time, without waiting for anyone. A lost phone can be barred in moments, and Mint's team spends less time on routine requests.
Get in touch if your customers keep asking you to do things they could safely do themselves.
