A Complete Website Overhaul Case Study
In October 2026 wildesoft.net rebuilt its own website from top to bottom: new technology underneath, a new look on top, and a case studies section that grew from a handful of pages to well over a hundred. Compare the old site with the new one below.
The Business Problem
The old site had served well for years, but it showed its age. It ran on an older version of Microsoft's web framework with components that were no longer supported, the home page was a slider of technology names and stock illustrations, and it said little about the work we had actually done.
The case studies were a short list of single pages, some years old, with no way to browse by client or system. On a phone the site was usable but dated, and behind the scenes it still made calls to Google and loaded libraries it no longer needed.
The Solution
We moved the site onto .NET 10 in four working days, with AI helping at every step of the upgrade, then rebuilt what visitors see.

BeforeAfterThe home page now opens with what we do in one sentence, a band of facts, and three panels that each lead to real case studies. New Consultancy and AI Consultancy pages explain how we help before any code is written, and an Ask about our work chat answers questions from our published case studies.

BeforeAfterAI helped us identify the work worth writing up across our clients' systems. The case studies now cover 13 clients and over 130 studies, each client with an overview, Development Highlights and its systems, and each study dated and labelled with the kind of work it was. They are kept in the site's own database, with an admin page to review and publish them.

BeforeAfterUnder the surface, every page now has one address, sharing previews, structured data for search engines, and a guide for AI assistants. Google's tracking and reCAPTCHA were replaced with Cloudflare's privacy-friendly versions, and old libraries were removed from the public pages.
The Result
The site now shows the work rather than describing it, and every page reads well on a phone.

BeforeAfterOver 240 code changes in October alone took the site from a dated brochure to a modern, fast and private website that we can keep improving every week.
