Logos in the Shops Case Study
ACE Embroidery's Logo Manager stores the artwork for every customer, and its white-label online shops sell garments carrying those logos to schools, clubs and businesses.
The Business Problem
The link between a logo and the products in a shop wasn't recorded properly. Staff setting up or checking a shop couldn't easily see which logo belonged on which garment, and similar-looking logos in dropdown lists were hard to tell apart. When products were imported, the same logo couldn't be used on more than one product, even though a school's crest naturally appears on its jumper, polo shirt and bag. The logo editing screen also showed its panels in an awkward order for the way staff actually worked.
The Solution
wildesoft.net connected Logo Manager more closely to the shops:
- a new "Logo Code for Shop" field, chosen from a dropdown, records which code each logo uses in the online shops, and this code is shared with ACE's other systems
- logo dropdowns now show a description alongside each code, so the right one is easy to pick
- administrators can see the logos on a product while editing its variants in the shop admin area
- product imports allow the same logo to be used on several products
- the logo editing panels were reordered to match how staff work through a logo.
The Result
Staff can see at a glance which logo belongs on which product, choose the right one first time, and set up a full range for a customer without workarounds. The same artwork can be reused across a customer's whole range.
