Reliable Proofing Case Study
Proof Manager is the public-facing site where ACE Embroidery's clients review and approve visual proofs of their customised clothing, such as a logo placed on a T-shirt. It is central to ACE's work: nothing is produced until a proof is approved.
The Business Problem
Over time small problems had built up. Some dropdowns in the proofing screens stopped working properly, the system needed to move to a new server, and proof emails depended on an older sending method. Old proof templates couldn't be retired without deleting them for good, and options such as sending a logo by post were still offered even though ACE no longer wanted them. The customer's personalisation instructions also weren't always reaching the documents that production relied on.
The Solution
wildesoft.net has kept Proof Manager reliable and current:
- moved Proof Manager to a new server
- rebuilt the dropdowns without the extra script library that was causing them to fail
- switched proof emails to a dedicated email delivery service
- added the ability to remove templates and restore them later, so old designs no longer clutter the screens
- removed the "send logo by post" option
- carried buyers' personalisation details, such as names, initials or a car registration and colour, through to proofs and exports, with new options added when ACE needed them
- reduced heavy searches when the server was under strain
- moved the application onto a newer version of the .NET Framework.
The Result
ACE's team has a dependable proofing tool that does what they need without workarounds. Proofs go out reliably, screens are uncluttered, and personalisation details reach production accurately.
