Product Catalogue Management Case Study
ACE Embroidery runs many branded online shops for schools, clubs and companies, each with its own range of garments, colours, sizes and prices.
The Business Problem
Keeping those ranges up to date was slow. Changing a product, a variant or a price meant working through records one at a time, and there was no easy way to take a product out of a shop and bring it back later. Staff couldn't easily get a list of a shop's products or prices out of the system to check them or share them with the customer, and some price lists were missing items.
The Solution
wildesoft.net built a set of catalogue tools for ACE's administrators:
- edit a product and its variants from one screen, with search across variants
- bulk edit variants and prices, so a change across a whole range is a single job
- remove and restore products and variants without losing them
- export a shop's products, or a full stock-level listing, to Excel
- export and print price lists, laid out in the shop's own display order and grouped under clean category headings, with net prices for collated and VIP lists
- export product bundles, and import new products through a guided pop-up
- fixes to price lists that had been leaving items out.
Organisations were also restricted to signing in only to the shops they own, and the administrator menu was tidied so the tools are quick to find. Later additions let administrators hide products that shouldn't be visible and show sale prices in the catalogue.
The Result
ACE's team can now update a whole range in minutes rather than record by record, send accurate price lists to customers, and withdraw products safely. Each organisation sees only its own shop.
