Search Visibility Case Study
BoB Connections runs business networking clubs, and most new members find a club by searching online for networking in their area. Every club, meeting and member business has its own page on the BoB Connections website, so how those pages appear in search results matters.
The Business Problem
With a page for every club, meeting and member business, search engines were seeing the site as a confusing set of near-duplicate pages. The same club or meeting could be reached through several web addresses that differed only in capital letters or extra parameters. The sitemap listed every meeting ever held, including pages that would never be useful to a visitor, while payment and empty member pages were open to indexing. Page titles and descriptions were generic, some images had no alternative text and some pages had no main heading. All of this diluted the value of the pages that mattered.
The Solution
wildesoft.net worked through the site systematically. Every link and email now uses a single lower-case web address, and each meeting page has one canonical address, so search engines see one version of each page. The sitemap was rebuilt to list the public pages that matter, such as clubs with upcoming meetings, company pages and club enquiry pages, while pages with nothing useful to show are marked not to be indexed.
Titles and descriptions are now written from each club's and meeting's own details. Structured data tells search engines that each club is a local business, with its location and what it offers. Missing headings and image descriptions were added across the site, and a simple blog area lets BoB Connections publish news and articles from the same admin system.
The Result
Search engines now see a clean, consistent site with one address for every page and clear information about every club. Visitors searching for networking in their town are more likely to land on the right club page, and BoB Connections has its own blog to keep the site fresh.
