Safe Releases Case Study
The Cabinet is central to CXCS's day-to-day operations, so any downtime or mistake in a new release affects the whole team.
The Business Problem
There was nowhere to try out changes before they went live. Every new feature or fix was effectively tested on the live system that staff relied on, which made each release a risk and slowed down the pace of improvement.
The Solution
wildesoft.net moved The Cabinet onto its own dedicated web address and built a separate staging ("sandbox") site, one of two staging environments it added for CXCS in 2026. Every change is now deployed to staging first, where CXCS staff check and sign it off before it is released to the live system. New staff are automatically given the right level of access when they first log in.
The Result
Releases are now routine rather than risky. CXCS has confidence that what goes live has already been checked by the people who will use it, and wildesoft.net can deliver improvements more frequently as a result.
