Individual Yields Case Study
CXCS advisers can record the yield a farmer actually expects from each field, rather than relying on standard industry figures. This has a direct effect on the nutrient recommendations in the plan.
The Business Problem
Nutricalc was using the adviser's yield correctly in its calculations, but the Nutrient Management Plan report printed the standard default yield instead. Farmers could see a figure on their plan that didn't match the recommendation beside it, which undermined confidence in the whole document. There were also two different places to enter a yield, adding to the confusion.
The Solution
wildesoft.net traced the report back to the wrong data source and corrected it. The Nutrient Management Plan now shows the individual yield the adviser entered for each field, consistent with what Nutricalc uses in its calculations.
The Result
The plan farmers receive is now consistent from top to bottom: the yield shown is the yield used. CXCS signed the fix off after testing on staging, and advisers no longer have to explain away mismatched figures to their clients.
