Sales Targets and Year to Date Case Study

2020 to 2022

webCRM is a Danish cloud CRM, and wildesoft.net is the UK developer it turns to when a customer needs something bespoke. For Job Meal, a Swedish supplier of workplace coffee and refreshments, wildesoft.net built a weekly sales report from webCRM data, then extended it as the business asked new questions.

The Business Problem

A two-week snapshot showed activity, but not progress. Managers wanted to know how each salesperson was doing over the whole year, and how that compared with the targets they had been set for each product group.

The targets lived in a separate spreadsheet, so comparing them with actual sales meant matching names and products by hand, and the picture was only as current as the last time someone did it.

The Solution

wildesoft.net first added year-to-date figures to the report, so the quantities sold for each product are shown for the whole year alongside the latest weeks.

Next came a sales target sheet. Each salesperson's targets are now held on their own user record in webCRM, so they are kept in one place and can be changed by a manager without touching the report. Every week the report sets each person's targets against what they have actually sold this year, product group by product group, with totals for the whole team. As Job Meal's product range and targets changed, wildesoft.net reworked the sheet to match.

The Result

Managers can see, in one sheet, who is on track and who needs support, for every product group, without maintaining a separate spreadsheet. Targets and results come from the same system, so there are no arguments about whose numbers are right.
