wildesoft.net Case Study
wildesoft.net is our own website, running on a content management system we built ourselves. In October 2026 we rebuilt it from the ground up, upgrading it to .NET 10 and turning it into a showcase for our work. We used AI throughout to help us plan, build and test, while every decision stayed with us.
The Business Problem
The site had fallen behind the work it was meant to sell. It ran on the old ASP.NET MVC 5 platform, with two outdated versions of Bootstrap, an old jQuery, and a file manager, error logging and analytics that were no longer supported. Its demonstrations showed generic widgets with dated data, and it carried only a handful of case studies, while years of client work sat unseen in issue trackers and code history. For a business that upgrades and looks after other people's systems, that wasn't a good look.
The Solution
We started with the platform. The site moved first to the final version of the .NET Framework, with a modern data layer and automated browser tests, and then to .NET 10, with AI helping to plan the migration and carry out each phase under our direction. The front end moved to Bootstrap 5 and jQuery 4, admin passwords were secured, and privacy-friendly Cloudflare Web Analytics replaced the old analytics.
Next came the content. We used AI to help us identify the strongest stories in each client's history, turning their issues and code changes into more than 90 case studies across seven clients, each with an overview, Development Highlights and a page for every system. Clear rules keep code, issue numbers and personal details out, and every story is checked against the real work before it is published.
The old demonstrations became a Tools section, built with AI's help in a day: an admin cost calculator that shows visitors what their manual admin costs, and a live integration example. We then used AI to build an AI chat, Ask about our work, which answers visitors' questions only from the published case studies, links to its sources, and is protected by rate limits and a fixed spending cap.
Alongside this, the pages were laid out in clear sections, new Consultancy pages were added, including AI Consultancy, the home page became editable in the CMS, email moved to SendGrid, and Cloudflare Turnstile replaced Google reCAPTCHA.
The Result
In nine days the site went from an ageing MVC 5 application to a modern, fully supported .NET 10 platform. It now shows our work in depth, gives visitors useful tools, and lets them ask directly whether we've solved a problem like theirs. It's also proof of how we use AI on client work: it speeds up the work, but experienced developers plan it, check it and stay accountable for it.
