Logo API Case Study
ACE Embroidery creates and stores its customers' logos in Logo Manager, its internal system for embroidery and print artwork. Every garment ACE produces starts with one of those logos.
The Business Problem
The logos were locked inside Logo Manager. When a partner selling ACE-made clothing, or one of ACE's own systems, needed a customer's logos, someone at ACE had to find them and send them across by hand. There was no safe way to let another system look up a customer and see the artwork they had on file, and images often needed resizing before they could be used on a web page.
The Solution
In 2022 wildesoft.net built a secure API for Logo Manager. Approved systems can now:
- find a customer's account by company, email address or customer code
- retrieve all of a customer's logos by their customer code, including the code used to identify each logo in the online shops
- fetch logo images at the size they need.
Every request must carry a valid key, and rate limiting stops any one caller from overloading the service. The API was built on a modern .NET platform, separate from the older applications, so it could be secured and scaled on its own.
Later work changed the image addresses the API hands out, so images are served from the right place, and in 2026 added a new image endpoint that returns logos padded to a neat square at any size, ready to drop into a product page.
The Result
Partners and ACE's own systems can now get the right logos for the right customer automatically and securely, without anyone at ACE having to search for files and email them. Artwork arrives at the size it's needed, so it can go straight onto the web.
