Supplier Responses Case Study

An LM3 result is only as good as the supplier information behind it. The most accurate figures come when suppliers themselves say how much of their own spending, and their staff's, stays local.

The Business Problem

Organisations might have hundreds of suppliers, held in their own spreadsheets in their own formats. Getting those suppliers into LM3, with clean addresses, and then getting the suppliers to respond, had been slow and manual. Organisations also had no clear way to know when they had heard from enough suppliers to trust the result.

The Solution

wildesoft.net built a supplier upload into the LM3 Hub. An organisation uploads its supplier list as a spreadsheet, the Hub checks it, shows any problems row by row, and can be re-uploaded or changed later without losing the work already done. Suppliers can be edited, tagged, exported or added one at a time, and address changes are picked up and re-checked automatically.

Each supplier can be sent a link to its own simple login, where it submits its local spend without needing an account. A confidence panel then shows how far the project has got: it looks for responses from suppliers covering at least 40% of the spend, and checks that the figures entered add up to within 20% of the project budget. A traffic-light status makes it clear when a result is ready.

The Result

Organisations can load their suppliers in minutes rather than days, collect responses directly from suppliers, and see exactly how reliable their LM3 result is before they publish it.
